Advancing Space Tech:

Acoustic Solutions for Cryogenic Propellant Management

Ricard González-Cinca presented

CRYSALIS acoustic tech at ELGRA 2024

Ricard González-Cinca, Head of the UPC Space Exploration Lab, recently presented the planned development work within CRYSALIS for Acoustic Technologies for In-orbit Cryogenic Propellant Management at the 28th European Low Gravity Research Association (ELGRA) meeting, held last week in Liverpool, UK.

Acoustic techniques are simple, low cost, low power solutions that permit propellant mass gauging in microgravity and can be used aid in boil-off management and propellant settling.
The Crysalis project is a major step forward in the European space sector, aimed at demonstrating cutting-edge solutions for in-orbit cryogenic storage and refuelling.

As part of the European consortium, Ricard collaborates with Absolut System, The Exploration Company, and the Centre Spatial de Liège to push the boundaries of space technology! 🚀✨
