In-Space
CRYSALIS is a collaborative project funded by the European Union to develop a system for the transfer and long-term storage of cryogenic propellant in microgravity, culminating in a 6-month small-scale orbital demonstration.
The demonstration system serves to validate cryogenic propellant storage and transfer tests in the space environment, unlocking novel opportunities for exploration, including in-orbit transportation, long-duration missions, and in-orbit storage.

Technologies
CRYSALIS advances cryogenic propellant
technologies for EU space missions
The CRYSALIS project is dedicated to advancing the technology for managing cryogenic propellants in space, with the goal of facilitating independent access to space for the EU and enabling extended missions beyond low Earth orbit (LEO) and geostationary orbit (GEO).
Cryogenic propellants
CRYSALIS tackles challenges in managing cryogenic propellants for greener, high-performance options like LOX/LCH4, essential for long-term orbital missions, with LN2 demonstrations.
Acoustics cryogenic propellant management
CRYSALIS showcases acoustic tech for precise cryogenic propellant measurement and management in space missions, offering transformative potential.
Vehicles
The Exploration Company creates Nyx, a reusable orbital vehicle for LEO and lunar missions, initially for cargo and later for humans. Nyx will evolve from storable to cryogenic propellants, serving as both CRYSALIS’ flight platform and a tech reference.
